Considerando las brechas socioeconómicas como algo fundamental para que se generen estas condiciones de vida, junto a esto conviven los residuos, la basura, la suciedad, los escombros, mataderos, fábricas y diversos elementos que remiten a referencias cinematográficas.Ítem 1st Global Consensus for Clinical Guidelines for the Rehabilitation of the Edentulous Maxilla: A Single-Round Survey on Sinus Lift and Alveolar Bone Augmentation Techniques.(John Wiley & Sons Ltd, 2026-02) Brunello, Giulia; Strauss, Franz J.; Milinkovic, Iva; Kopp, Ina; Schwarz, Frank; Wang, Hom-LayObjectives: The objective of this survey study was to collect expert insights on the rehabilitation of the edentulous maxilla involving adjunctive procedures such as sinus lifts and other bone augmentation techniques. This process aimed to support the development of a consensus and contribute to the formulation of clinical practice guidelines for the management of the edentulous maxilla. Materials and Methods: In preparation for the 1st Global Consensus for Clinical Guidelines for the rehabilitation of the edentulous maxilla, a structured questionnaire was developed. The survey was administered online anonymously in a single round. It consisted of multiple-choice items and 94 7-point Likert-scale statements and questions. Consensus was defined as >75% and ≤95% agreement or disagreement, and strong consensus as >95% agreement or disagreement. Results: Of the 217 experts invited from 43 countries, 116 successfully completed the questionnaire via the survey link, resulting in a response rate of 53.5%. Among the 94 statements and questions, 44 (46.8%) reached consensus and 4 (4.3%) strong consensus. All statements that achieved strong consensus pertained to key clinician-reported outcomes considered essential for inclusion in future research. There was strong agreement on the importance of evaluating surgical, prosthetic, and biological complications, along with marginal bone loss. Conclusion: This study collected valuable expert opinions to inform a consensus development process and contribute to the formulation of clinical practice guidelines for the management of the edentulous maxilla in complex cases requiring additional augmentation procedures.Ítem 1st Global Consensus for Clinical Guidelines for the Rehabilitation of the Edentulous Maxilla: A Single-Round Survey on the Number of Implants, Timing of Implant Placement, and Loading for Fixed Restorations.(John Wiley & Sons Ltd., 2026-02) Schoenbaum, Todd R.; Lin, Guo-Hao; Brunello, Giulia; Strauss, Franz J.; Schwarz, Frank; Jung, Ronald E.; Wang, Hom-LayObjectives: To gather the opinions and preferences of experts regarding the number of implants used to support a fixed prosthesis in the edentulous maxilla, timing of implant placement, and timing of implant loading. This was performed using a single-round survey methodology. The primary objective was to support the development of a consensus and contribute to the formulation of clinical practice guidelines for the management of the edentulous maxilla. Materials and Methods: A custom survey instrument was created by a steering committee and team of experts for the 1st Global Consensus for Clinical Guidelines. The anonymous survey was conducted using a single-round survey method. Consensus was defined as >75% and ≤95% agreement or disagreement, and strong consensus as >95% agreement or disagreement. Results: A total of 202 experts from 42 different countries were identified and invited to participate. 117 provided consent and completed the questionnaire, resulting in a response rate of 57.9%. Strong consensus (>95%) reached on no items. Consensus (>75% and ≤95%) reached on four items: always using CBCT for planning, first molar as distal-most implant site for full-arch fixed prosthesis, use of a lab-fabricated acrylic provisional for full-arch fixed prosthesis, and the use of 4 implants to retain a removable maxillary denture. Conclusion: This survey synthesized the preferences and opinions of experts regarding implant number, timing, and loading for the fixed rehabilitation of the edentulous maxilla to inform a consensus development process and contribute to the formulation of clinical practice guidelines for the management of the edentulous maxilla.Ítem 1st Global Consensus for Clinical Guidelines for the Rehabilitation of the Edentulous Maxilla: Patient and Cross-Disciplinary Expert Single-Round Surveys(John Wiley & Sons Ltd, 2026-02) Lin, Guo-Hao.; Brunello, Giulia; Jung, Ronald E.; Kopp, Ina; Schwarz, Frank; Wang, Hom-Lay; Strauss, Franz J.Objectives: To gather perspectives from patients and cross-disciplinary experts on treatment practices and outcomes in managing the edentulous maxilla to inform a structured consensus process and highlight areas for future research. Materials and Methods: An 18-item single-round survey was distributed in November 2024 with 68 patients and 68 cross-disciplinary experts. Participation was voluntary, anonymous, incentive-free, and required informed consent. Consensus was defined as >75% and ≤95% agreement or disagreement, and strong consensus as >95% agreement or disagreement. Results: Response rates were 60.3% among patients, and 30.9% among cross-disciplinary experts. Consensus or strong consensus was achieved by patients on 15 statements across nine items and by cross-disciplinary experts on 15 statements across eight items. Items reaching consensus included the use of cone-beam computed tomography, preference for fixed full-arch prostheses, major treatment outcomes, need for hard tissue augmentation, home care regimens, dental implant lifespan, procedure difficulty, cost-effectiveness, and patient-reported outcomes. Both groups also highlighted the need for further research on full-arch implant rehabilitation of the maxilla. Conclusion: Findings from both surveys inform the development of clinical practice guidelines in treating the edentulous maxilla by providing valuable perspectives from patients and cross-disciplinary experts. Areas lacking consensus illustrate real-world variations in treatment approaches, highlight knowledge gaps in the current literature, and reveal important differences among patient expectations, expert opinions, and available evidence.Ítem 1st Global Consensus for Clinical Guidelines for the Rehabilitation of the Edentulous Maxilla: Single-Round Survey on Implant-Supported Fixed and Removable Prostheses.(John Wiley & Sons Ltd, 2026-02) Lin, Guo-Hao; Strauss, Franz J.; Brunello, Giulia; Stilwell, Charlotte; Jung, Ronald E.; Kopp, Ina; Schwarz, Frank; Wang, Hom-LayObjectives: This single-round survey on prosthodontic rehabilitation of the edentulous maxilla is one of four clinician surveys commissioned prior to the first Global Consensus for Clinical Guidelines (GCCG). Within the GCCG aim of refining treatment protocols and enhancing patient care, this survey gathered expert insights into best practices, challenges, and treatment outcomes for these complex restorative procedures. Materials and Methods: The 25-item survey was sent to 230 identified experts from 41 countries in October 2024. Participation in the survey was voluntary and without incentives. Informed consent was obtained at the beginning of the survey. All data were collected, stored, and processed anonymously. Results: Of the 230 experts contacted, 123 accessed the survey and 121 provided consent and completed the questionnaire, resulting in a response rate of 52.6%. The survey responses identified 13 statements that reached consensus (>75% but ≤ 95% agreement) and five that reached strong consensus (>95% agreement). These 18 statements were derived from 6 items addressing the topics of anatomical landmarks for tooth positioning, preferred distal implant position, preferred minimum implant diameter, preferred retention method, relevant patient-reported outcomes, and relevant clinician-reported outcomes. Conclusion: This study gathered valuable expert insights to inform a consensus development process for establishing clinical practice guidelines for management of the edentulous maxilla. The survey identified 18 statements from six items that reached consensus or strong consensus among survey respondents. The items not achieving consensus served to reflect real-world implant treatment strategies, identify literature gaps, and highlight any inconsistencies between expert consensus and current evidence.Ítem 27F: Los otros damnificados. However, the COVID-19 pandemic significantly changed the strategies for such campaigns. It is now crucial to rigorously consider new factors when planning the operational aspects of these campaigns, particularly for last-mile vaccine dispensing. First, a large share of the population must be vaccinated, with emphasis on vulnerable groups at higher risk. Second, if the virus is highly contagious and capable of asymptomatic transmission, implementing public health measures at vaccination sites becomes paramount. To address these challenges, we propose a bi-objective optimization model to support healthcare decision-making. It defines a schedule for locating temporary vaccination centers and assigning populations to permanent and temporary sites over a planning horizon. Moreover, we formalize and validate a minimum set of properties for a function-based prioritization mechanism to ensure consistent prioritization. One objective prioritizes vaccinating vulnerable groups according to our novel function-based approach, while the other minimizes the operational costs of temporary centers. In the complex environment of a pandemic, the strategic integration and use of temporary and permanent vaccination centers is vital for creating a robust and responsive vaccination strategy. Temporary centers, whose locations are determined by the model, improve access for hard-to-reach groups, contribute to minimizing crowding at permanent sites, and lower infection risks. Our results, demonstrated through a case study, show that the model effectively allocates resources and generates various vaccination plans that cater to different priority levels assigned to each objective, thereby offering valuable decision support.Ítem A comprehensive review of global developments and research trends in electric vehicles(Springer Nature, 2026-07-24) Rao, Challa KrishnaThis study traces the global progression of electric vehicle (EV) research spanning 1955 to 2025, with insights derived from Scopus and Web of Science bibliometric analyses. The findings reveal exponential growth, surpassing 100,000 EV related publications by 2021, and continued expansion across multiple sub domains. From 1990 to 2022, researchers produced 135,388 publications on electric vehicle technologies, focusing strongly on areas such as government policies, lithium-ion battery development, battery management systems, charging networks, intelligent charging methods, and vehicle to everything (V2X) connectivity. Specialized fields such as nanotechnology contributed 18,496 publications from 2001 to 2024, representing 7.35% of total EV output. National-level assessments, such as Brazil, demonstrate steep increases in scholarly production, peaking above 10,000 publications annually between 2021 and 2024. Although comprehensive 2025 figures are not yet consolidated, prevailing trends indicate sustained incremental growth. Taken together, the findings emphasize how electric vehicle research spans multiple disciplines, reflects the growing international cooperation among academics, and underscores the importance of new technologies in driving sustainable transportation and shaping the future of urban mobility.Ítem A comprehensive review of smart energy management systems for photovoltaic power generation utilizing the internet of things(KeAi chinese roots global impact, 2025-04-25) Rao, Challa KrishnaRenewable energy represents the most reliable and widely recognized solution for meeting the escalating global energy demands. The optimization of solar energy generation necessitates a strong focus on predictive maintenance and advanced deployment methodologies. To enhance solar power utilization, Internet of Things enabled solar monitoring systems have been proposed for real-time data acquisition and analytics, facilitating performance forecasting and ensuring consistent power output. A critical challenge in demand-side energy management lies in optimizing the integration of renewable resources while maintaining cost efficiency and minimizing energy losses. Therefore, strategic planning for the integration of renewable energy sources is imperative. Intelligent energy management systems play a pivotal role in optimizing energy distribution, particularly in scenarios with high grid dependency. Cloud computing infrastructures address the complexities and scalability challenges posed by expanding smart grids, enabling real-time data processing and adaptive energy control mechanisms. This study explores the practical implementation of energy management system in industrial settings and research domains, both of which serve as key stakeholders in advancing smart energy solutions. The evolving landscape of internet of things driven innovations presents numerous research opportunities, including the formulation of performance evaluation metrics and the development of novel optimization techniques. Additionally, the growing emphasis on energy management within intelligent architectural frameworks underscores the necessity for deeper investigations into adaptive control strategies and system interoperability. A Digital-Twin-Enabled Resilience Framework (DTERF) for Machine-Learning-Based Anomaly Detection in High-PV Cyber–Physical Smart Grids(MPDI, 2026-08-26) Yanine, Franco Fernando; Hidalgo, Mauricio; Frez, Jonathan; Rao, Challa Krishna; Sahoo, Sarat KumarThe rapid integration of solar photovoltaic (PV) generation, distributed energy resources, and advanced communication infrastructures is transforming conventional power systems into highly interconnected cyber–physical smart grids. Although this transition improves sustainability and operational flexibility, it also increases grid-management complexity and introduces cyber–physical vulnerabilities, including false data injection attacks, communication failures, equipment degradation, and renewable-induced operational instabilities. This paper presents the Digital-Twin-Enabled Resilience Framework (DTERF), a conceptual reference architecture for anomaly detection in high-PV cyber–physical smart grids. DTERF integrates heterogeneous cyber–physical data acquisition, Digital Twin-based contextual representation, machine-learning analytics, explainable decision support, adaptive operational response, continuous learning, and self-healing capabilities within a unified resilience cycle. The framework is grounded in a structured review and comparative assessment ofcontemporary machine-learning approaches and recent integrated smart-grid research. Itsarchitecture is conceptually evaluated through requirements-to-architecture traceability, examining functional coverage and internal consistency across the complete operational cycle. The analysis shows that DTERF provides explicit architectural mechanisms addressing the principal requirements identified in the literature, including contextual anomaly analysis, interpretability, cybersecurity robustness, resilience support, and operational integration. Rather than proposing a new anomaly detection algorithm or claiming empirical performance superiority, DTERF provides a technology-agnostic architectural foundationfor coordinating complementary capabilities required for resilient anomaly management. Invitando a turistas a experimentar sensaciones inmersivas, con el fin de promover el conocimiento de viajar a la deriva y así contribuir al desarrollo turístico alternativo y a la preservación de la identidad e idiosincrasia insular.Ítem A map of collective pedagogical content knowledge as a basis for studying the development of biology teachers’ personal PCK of evolution(Routledge, 2024-08-02) Vergara, ClaudiaIn the past few decades, a large body of research has been conducted on pedagogical content knowledge (PCK), but further empirical and theoretical studies are needed to enhance our understanding of PCK development. This study aimed to describe the development of PCK of evolution in a group of biology teachers using a modified version of the refined consensus model (Mixed Model), including the five components of PCK from the model elaborated by Magnusson et al. (1999). The qualitative research design involved multiple study cases, including semi- structured interviews and lesson plan meetings. A collective PCK (cPCK) map was generated via content representation interviews with six expert biology teachers and scholars. The ideas expressed by three or more experts were then included in the cPCK map, which was used to assess the personal PCK (pPCK) development of a different group of seven biology schoolteachers using three traits: map area, map shape, and the identity of the concepts included in the map. The findings show that the development of teachers’ pPCK was mainly due to the increase in the map area resulting from the inclusion of new concepts belonging to knowledge of students learning and to the knowledge associated with strategies.Ítem A new dynamic, secondary-memory metric index(Red de Universidades Nacionales con carreras en Informática (RedUNCI); Universidad Nacional de la Plata, 2024-10-07) Paredes, RodrigoMetric space searching addresses the problem of efficient similarity searching in many applications. Although promising, the metric space approach is still immature in several aspects that are well established in traditional databases. Particularly, most indexing schemes are not dynamic, that is, few of them tolerate insertion of elements at reasonable cost over an existing index with none or mild performance degrading; and even less of them work efficiently in secondary memory. The List of Clusters (LC) is a competitive index in main memory. We introduce a new dynamic, secondary-memory variant of the LC. Our new index handles well the secondary memory scenario and is competitive with the state of the art, becoming a useful alternative in a wide range of database applications. Also, our ideas are applicable to other secondary-memory indexes, where it is possible to control the disk page occupation.Ítem A nomogram for relapse/death and contemplating adjuvant therapy for parathyroid carcinoma(Elsevier, 2023-08) Silva-Figueroa, AngélicaThe staging systems proposed to date for PC have not been adequately validated. Recent multivariate have been carried out in large national and international databases to search for prognostic factors for survival and relapse in PC. Advanced age, male gender, high PTH and calcium levels at diagnosis, tumor size >30 mm, angioinvasion, presence of distant metastases, and specific tumor microenvironmental factors, such as parafibromin staining and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, have been strongly correlated with decreased OS and CSS, and with increased risk of local and distant recurrence. Because of their prognostic significance, these host and tumor factors should be included in any PC staging system. However, there is a need to promote collaborative PC registry plans to collate data on the above prognostic factors as well as new ways in a standardized global registry. Such a resource could be used to stratify patients with PC and identify those at high risk for relapse and death who may benefit from strict surveillance or adjuvant therapeutic care. PC is an indolent cancer with a high recurrence rate of 3 to 5 years after the first surgical intervention. Progression can remain dormant for decades until patients present with distant metastases. Such heterogeneity and neoplastic latency make OS an ambitious endpoint to achieve, and pursuing OS contradicts the actual needs of patients with this endocrine neoplasm. More relevant endpoints focus on achieving normal blood biochemistry to improve quality of life and intervening to lengthen recurrence/metastasis event-related-free survival. Surgery remains the standard treatment because traditional therapies, such as EBRT and chemotherapy, do not benefit patients with advanced unresectable or metastatic PC, new options are emerging for patients with PC. Genomic and phenotypic profiling can continue to inform personalized therapeutic strategies to expand the clinical options available to patients with PC.
