Resumen

The project explores my relationship with the discipline of cycling and how it influences my life and art. Each "structure" is an expression of my rides and an invitation to share a unique perspective on the city and its forms. My aim is to show how I came to approach this subject matter, the ideas that have germinated, the methodology I have employed and the various themes that converge in my work. My work focuses on concepts such as the route, urban language, structures and road circulation. It all began with the search to represent the sensation of the journey through different approaches, but always with the intention of translating it into a sculptural, material expression. This exploration led me to delve into the geometric language of the city, unraveling its shapes, volumes, lines and straight lines that intersect and intertwine in the urban structure. My work also proposes to observe the automated and directed circulation of pedestrians and the socio-spatial segregation that exists in Santiago de Chile. Ethnography as a methodology helped me to collect visual materials, and thus understand the nature of objects in the urban environment. The installation of the pieces, movable for those who are curious and feel the desire to push them, or on the other hand static if desired, is fundamental in my work, as it seeks to generate a dialogue and a route established by the public.
