The objective of the thesis project was to analyze the relationship between parental involvement and the future aspirations of adolescents, from the perspective of fourth year high school students, from public and private schools in the Metropolitan Region. This is a descriptive qualitative study, carried out from an interpretative paradigm. The sample consisted of adolescent students in their fourth year of high school from public and private schools in the Metropolitan Region. The instruments used were semi-structured interviews. The results of the research show the relevance of parental involvement in the educational and personal life of their children, identifying differences between involvement by factors due to socioeconomic level and educational level of parents or caregivers.
