In the global health context, the COVID-19 pandemic has modified the established social foundations. Education has been affected, requiring a process of adaptation and updating towards digitalization and paradigm shift. Educational agents have faced the implications of abrupt digitalization, uncertainty, vulnerability, among others. Given the immediacy of the process, the consequences are unknown, however, studies have already determined that motivation, self-regulation of learning, perception of quality, the difficulty of forming social ties and the heavy academic load, are relevant factors that can cause high rates of failure and desertion. This study intends, from phenomenology and the consideration of Being according to Heidegger, to interpret the experiences of university students of a private university in terms of how they have lived their educational process during the COVID-19 pandemic period of the year 2021. It seeks to explore significant experiences, to understand "being a university student" and to describe the experiences associated with the current health context. The data collection method was carried out by means of Body Mapping. An autobiographical narrative writing was integrated to the instrument as a reinforcement. The Colaizzi method was used for the analysis and the validation of the analysis will be sought by means of participant feedback. Background information was provided in relation to significant life experiences of nursing students, on the process of studying at the university during the COVID-19 pandemic period of the year 2021, for the creation and implementation of future actions that strengthen university education and aim at the integral development of the human being in exceptional situations.
