Autoeficacia y rendimiento académico en las prácticas curriculares de estudiantes de la carrera de Nutrición y Dietética en una universidad privada en Santiago de Chile, 2023

Resumen
Antecedentes: La autoeficacia y el rendimiento académico, son conceptos de gran relevancia para cualquier estudiante. Esta investigación destaca la asociación entre estudiantes de Nutrición y Dietética en una universidad privada chilena, en el contexto de las prácticas curriculares, ambiente principal para el desarrollo del futuro profesional. Este estudio muestra sobre cómo los estudiantes enfrentan desafíos académicos bajo este contexto.
Objetivos: Analizar la asociación entre autoeficacia y rendimiento académico, identificar las características sociodemográficas, conocer nivel de autoeficacia según el rendimiento académico, describir la autoeficacia según características sociodemográficas y rendimiento académico de los estudiantes.
Materiales y Métodos: Estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo y transversal, una muestra de 138 estudiantes. La autoeficacia se evalúa con el instrumento EAPESA y el rendimiento académico con las calificaciones finales de las prácticas curriculares.
Resultados Se evidencia que no hay asociación entre la autoeficacia y el rendimiento académico de las prácticas curriculares, pero existe asociación significativa con ciertas variables sociodemográficas claves.
Discusión y Conclusiones: Se destacan los factores que influyen en la vida estudiantil, como el nivel socioeconómico y año académico. Se recomienda mejorar la metodología de aplicación del instrumento en futuras investigaciones, llevándolo a entornos reales como los centros de prácticas, para obtener resultados precisos y relevantes.
Background: Self-efficacy and academic performance are concepts of great relevance for any student. This research highlights the association between Nutrition and Dietetics students in a private Chilean university, in the context of curricular practices and the main environment for the development of the future professional. This study shows how students face academic challenges in this context. Objectives: To analyze the association between self-efficacy and academic performance, to identify sociodemographic characteristics, to know the level of self-efficacy according to academic performance, to describe self-efficacy according to sociodemographic characteristics and academic performance of students. Discussion and Conclusions: Factors that influence student life, such as socioeconomic level and academic year, are highlighted. It is recommended to improve the methodology of application of the instrument in future research, taking it to real environments such as internship centers, in order to obtain accurate and relevant results.
