Resumen
Antecedentes: La tutoría clínica es fundamental en desarrollo de la práctica profesional en el área de la salud. En la carrera de nutrición está a cargo de un Nutricionista que cumple el rol tutor clínico, el cual se encarga de monitorear y retroalimentar el desempeño de los estudiantes, siendo un facilitador de conocimientos, orientando el desarrollo de habilidades, destrezas y/o actitudes durante el proceso, favoreciendo a un aprendizaje significativo, acorde al perfil de egreso de la carrera. En la actualidad, existen pocos estudios respecto a la percepción de los estudiantes respecto al rol del tutor clínico.
Objetivo general: Conocer la percepción del rol del tutor clínico de los estudiantes que realizan su práctica profesional clínica de la escuela de Nutrición de la Universidad Autónoma de Chile 2023.
Materiales y métodos: Estudio cuantitativo de tipo descriptivo a 76 estudiantes de Nutrición y Dietética que se cursaron su práctica profesional clínica en el año 2023. El instrumento de recolección de datos es MEDUC 30.
Resultados: Los estudiantes que cursaron su práctica profesional clínica, evaluaron que los profesionales Nutricionistas presentaron un buen desempeño en su rol de tutor clínico. Discusiones y conclusiones: Se exponen descubrimientos significativos sobre los factores de percepción docencia centrada en el paciente, habilidades de evaluación, competencias docentes y ambiente de aprendizaje. Estos hallazgos posibilitan la elaboración de estrategias destinadas a fortalecer la función del tutor clínico.
Background: Clinical mentoring is essential in the development of professional practice in the health area. In the nutrition program, it is led by a Nutritionist who plays the role of clinical tutor, who is responsible for monitoring and providing feedback on the students' performance, being a facilitator of knowledge, guiding the development of abilities, skills and/or attitudes during the process, favoring meaningful learning, according to the graduation profile of the degree. Currently, there are few studies regarding the perception of students regarding the role of the clinical tutor. General objective: To know the perception of the role of the clinical tutor of the students who carry out their clinical professional practice at the School of Nutrition of the Autonomous University of Chile 2023. Materials and methods: Quantitative descriptive study of 76 Nutrition and Dietetics students who completed their clinical professional practice in 2023. The data collection instrument is MEDUC 30. Results: The students who completed their clinical professional practice evaluated that the Nutritionist professionals performed well in their role as clinical tutor. Discussions and conclusions: Significant discoveries are presented about the factors of patient-centered teaching perception, evaluation skills, teaching competencies and learning environment. These findings make it possible to develop strategies aimed at strengthening the role of the clinical tutor.
