Resumen
Antecedentes: La práctica clínica constituye una actividad fundamental para el desarrollo de habilidades y la aplicación de conocimientos adquiridos, y es esencial para la formación de profesionales idóneos. La primera práctica clínica intrahospitalaria en estudiantes de enfermería permite vivir experiencias y emociones impactantes emanadas del contacto por primera vez con un paciente y su entorno. El estudiante, apoyado por un tutor guía, entrega cuidados propios del rol del enfermero. Este contexto entrega gran riqueza educativa.
Objetivo: Explorar las experiencias y emociones de los estudiantes de segundo año de la carrera de enfermería de la Universidad Finis Terrae, en su primera práctica clínica intrahospitalaria.
Materiales y Métodos: El diseño de la investigación es de tipo cualitativo. La metodología utilizada es la fenomenología descriptiva de Husserl. El método de recolección de datos será mediante la aplicación de entrevistas cualitativas semiestructuradas de manera individual. El análisis de datos utiliza el método de Colaizzi.
Resultados: se entrevista a ocho estudiantes entre 19 y 21 años, cuya primera práctica clínica fue en cuatro centros hospitalarios. Las experiencias significativas y emociones analizadas fueron agrupadas en cinco categorías: valor del contacto con pacientes hospitalizados, emociones durante la práctica clínica, valor de la práctica clínica en su conjunto, la práctica produce vocación, e importancia de la tutoría clínica.
Discusión y Conclusión: La primera práctica clínica produce en los estudiantes diversas experiencias significativas y emociones asociadas que impactan en su aprendizaje y sentido vocacional.
Background: Clinical practice is a fundamental activity for the development of skills and the application of acquired knowledge and is essential for the training of qualified professionals. The first in-hospital clinical practice in nursing students allows them to live experiences and powerful emotions emanating from the first contact with a patient and his environment. The student, supported by a guiding tutor, provides nursing care. This context provides great educational richness. Objective: To explore the experiences and emotions of second year nursing students of the Universidad Finis Terrae, in their first in-hospital clinical practice. Materials and Methods: The research design is qualitative. The methodology used is Husserl's descriptive phenomenology. The method of data collection will be through the application of qualitative semi-structured interviews on an individual basis. The data analysis uses Colaizzi's method. Results: eight students between 19 and 21 years old, whose first clinical practice was in four hospital centers, were interviewed. The significant experiences and emotions analyzed were grouped into five categories: value of contact with hospitalized patients, emotions during clinical practice, value of clinical practice as a whole, practice produces vocation, and importance of clinical mentoring. Discussion and Conclusion: The first clinical practice produces in the students several significant experiences and associated emotions that impact their learning and vocational sense.
