| dc.description.abstract | The relationship between our perception and how we interpret others is intriguing. Some traits or behaviors appear dangerous to us, making it difficult for us to recognize our own capacity to do harm. Cruelty is inherent in humans and has been part of our history as we have had to compete for resources and survive. While we do not all act horribly, it is crucial to recognize our capacity to cause harm. The question arises: is there a relationship between cruelty and pleasure? An artwork is proposed that explores this theme, using computer-generated imagery. The work presents an interactive virtual creature that reacts to cruel or empathetic attitudes of the viewer. It incorporates motion capture technology and a proximity sensor to establish its comfort or feel invaded, offering a reflection on our human nature. | en |
