- Resumen
The maxillary canines are the teeth with the most frequent eruption anomaly in their eruption after the third molars. In the literature, a prevalence of retention of the maxillary canine is reported that is between 0.92% and 5.3%. An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out with data obtained from the oral and maxillofacial imaging service of the Finis Terrae University between 2018 and 2021. The main objective of the study was to investigate the prevalence of canines included in children aged 9 and 13 years who attended the radiological center of the Finis Terrae University. The study evaluated 129 panoramic radiographs that met this range, of which 5 had included canines, which is equivalent to a prevalence of 3.84% A higher prevalence is considered in the male sex with 60%, the maxilla being mainly affected in 100% and unilaterally in 100% of the cases.
