El estudio analiza la cobertura televisiva en los noticieros 24 Horas y Meganoticias del fallecimiento del expresidente Sebastián Piñera, ocurrido el 6 de febrero de 2024. Por medio de un enfoque mixto, se identificaron temáticas, orientaciones y recursos audiovisuales. Se evidencian diferencias editoriales que influyen en la representación simbólica del exmandatario, mostrando cómo los medios configuran memorias públicas ante hechos de alto impacto. This study analyzes the television coverage of the death of former President Sebastián Piñera, which occurred on February 6, 2024, by the news programs 24 Horas and Meganoticias. Using a mixed-methods approach, it identifies themes, narrative framings, and audiovisual resources. Editorial differences influenced the symbolic representation of the former president, revealing how media shape public memory in moments of national mourning.
