Aplicaciones de la fitoterapia en el tratamiento de lesiones en mucosa oral: Revisión sistemática

The search for pain relief has been a very old front in the study of medicine. The field of natural medicine grows stronger every year and attracts more people for this application, which is why the demand from patients who use this therapeutic option is greater. The objective of this systematic bibliographic review is to evaluate the applications of herbal medicine in the treatment of oral mucosa lesions. In order to carry out the following study, bibliographic information was compiled on the use of medicinal plants in the medical-dental field for the treatment of oral mucosa lesions, such as: periodontal and gingival disease, lichen planus, traumatic lesions, mucositis by radiation. In this way, it was possible to collect enough scientific evidence to support the use of natural and traditional medicine for the treatment of different diseases and lesions of the oral mucosa.
