The expanding use of lateral extra‐articular procedures (LEAPs) and tibial deflexion osteotomy (TDO)—also referred to as slope‐reducing anterior closing wedge high tibial osteotomy—in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction reflects meaningful progress in our understanding of mechanisms of graft failure. However, as their use expands, an important distinction just be maintained: they do not address the same problem.
