Deficiencias en la regulación del uso y goce de agua de mar que pueden afectar a largo plazo la producción de hidrógeno verde en Chile

The developer of a green hydrogen project has in mind to occupy large amounts of seawater as the main input for its industrial production process. Despite the importance of marine water resources for the maintenance of a competitive and sustainable market, currently in Chile there are deficient aspects in the regulations that regulate the use and enjoyment of seawater that in the long term could affect the country's position as a world leader in fuel production. This article analyzes the legal nature and regulation of the use and enjoyment of seawater, highlighting the deficiencies that exist today and proposing a course of action to correct said deficiencies.
