El campo de la medicina natural cada año toma más fuerza y atrae a más personas para su aplicación, es por esto que es mayor la demanda de pacientes usuarios de esta opción terapéutica. La presente revisión bibliográfica sistemática tiene como objetivo evaluar las aplicaciones de la fitoterapia en el tratamiento de lesiones de mucosa oral. Para poder llevar a cabo el siguiente estudio, se recopiló información bibliográfica sobre el uso de plantas medicinales en el ámbito médico-odontológico para el tratamiento de lesiones de mucosa oral, tales como:: enfermedad periodontal y gingival, liquen plano, lesiones traumáticas, mucositis por radiación. De esta manera se logró recopilar suficiente evidencia científica que avale el uso de la medicina natural y tradicional para el tratamiento de distintas enfermedades y lesiones de mucosa oral.The search for pain relief has been a very old front in the study of medicine. The field of natural medicine grows stronger every year and attracts more people for this application, which is why the demand from patients who use this therapeutic option is greater. The objective of this systematic bibliographic review is to evaluate the applications of herbal medicine in the treatment of oral mucosa lesions. In order to carry out the following study, bibliographic information was compiled on the use of medicinal plants in the medical-dental field for the treatment of oral mucosa lesions, such as: periodontal and gingival disease, lichen planus, traumatic lesions, mucositis by radiation.
